“Gwen has never been so excited about anything this much in her life! When I saw her on the side of the stage during the performance, she mouthed at me “Can I please come next year?” so it transpires a week with virtual strangers was more satisfying than either of us expected! Her passion for music (and camping) has gone through the roof … the best investment in a budding musician’s future. August can’t come quick enough!”

“Huge thanks and congratulations on another successful year … it gets better each year! It’s an absolute pleasure to come and watch a snippet of what you have achieved during the week on the Saturday afternoon.”

“I just wanted to thank everyone at GBMC so much for the fantastic camp and music opportunities provided for our young people … I am writing this as [my son] plays ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ from our garden office, which brings a lump to my throat that he has felt so inspired and had such a laugh with everyone that he has spent time with. He definitely wants to join you all again next year.”

Sharron Down

“He absolutely loved it and the first thing he asked was if he could come back – from a boy who isn’t keen to leave home for any amount of time, it shows how much he got out of it. He is also now learning the guitar via YouTube since coming back … I’m so glad he got that last-minute place.”

Catherine De Sousa

“Thank you for the fantastic time that [my daughter] had on this year’s camp. This was the third time she has been and each one keeps getting better! I can honestly say she did not stop talking for several days about all the fun things that happened and the friends she has made, not to mention the music and poetry that was produced too. Thank you for such a well organised and fun week for the children.”

Lynne

“My daughter has come away asking to come back next year and her younger sister is keen to come too.  We were particularly delighted to see our daughter performing with others in the concert as she tends to be one of those guitarists who plays a lot on her own.”

Christiane Astridge

“Well what can I say except a  huge thank you to all GB Music staff who gave Fraser and Issac the best holiday ever!!!”

Jayne Wright

“It was wonderful to be surrounded by passionate young musicians and the infectious energy and enthusiasm of all the music teachers and staff. The fact that everyone volunteered their time to be a part of the camp is truly remarkable and heart-warming.”

Joyce Ohajah

“The atmosphere of the camp was very positive, supportive and encouraging and as a result, the campers were able to put their inhibitions behind them and really develop their creativity, confidence and self belief. The final concert saw many of us parents shedding emotional tears when we saw what these young people had achieved.”

“Within an hour of returning from GBMC 2014, our daughter had signed up for GBMC 2015! In her words it was ‘the best week of her life’. We turned up on the final day unsure what to expect but the final concert was packed with an eclectic mix of music making which was fabulous to watch and we couldn’t believe what had been achieved in a week. The tutors without a doubt made the week memorable with their experience and wealth of knowledge. Our daughter didn’t want to leave and since coming home has met up with new friends from the week and has been busy recruiting old friends for next year’s camp.”

“What can I say about GBMC! Wow, totally soooo much more than I was expecting, Blae & Laurie had the time of their lives and haven’t stopped talking about it since. They have both made lots of like minded friends who I think will be friends for life and they’ve kept in touch regularly since. The camp itself was extremely well organised. From the inception of booking in and keeping us up to date with information it was great. The organisation behind the event was second to none. Working myself in Ofsted registered childcare settings I think without doubt every last detail had been thought of. The sessions were organised well and the children could be as comfortable within the music they knew or as stretched in new challenges as they wanted to be. My children said there was a good mix of free time but that even that was organised free time so homesickness didn’t creep in. Overall they were absolutely buzzing, excellent, inspirational teachers who acted as great role models to these young people, its probably been one of the best experiences of their lives so far. Keep up the fantastic work, my children will definitely be there next year and I would have no hesitation in recommending the GBMC to any other budding musicians.”

“My two children aged 17 and 13 attended the Great British Music Camp 2014 and had a thoroughly wonderful time. The whole week was extremely well structured, covering a wide range of musical, artistic and social events for the young people. They were extremely well occupied, gained a tremendous amount of music tuition and made many new friends from the wide range of backgrounds. They were both extremely excited about the whole event and keen to return next year.”
